Tanglewood began in 1976, when Tom Becker was working as a solo performer, playing acoustic guitar, singing, writing and traveling to pursue his dream. The night before an eight week tour of Canada was about to begin, the entire booking fell through. After consulting with a Denver agent, Tom created a five piece country-rock band, the original Tanglewood. Since that time, Tom has led many versions of Tanglewood, playing clubs, concerts and universities throughout the US and Canada with an act that has ranged from five members to two.

Today, the Tanglewood band is a combination of an event planner, chiropractor, a massage therapist, network engineer and a paging company consultant. Their music consists of a mixture of rock, country and folk all rolled in to one. Their musical styles and tastes combined are a rich, easy listening composure.
